4 months of fun

Okay, sorry for the picture overload! But I know the grandparents will love it...
Quick four month update... this month, Julia:
-rolled over
-laughed hysterically
-ate rice cereal (and doesn't like it yet)
-decided she doesn't like to sleep through the night anymore after 2 straight months of doing so
-found her voice, and loves to scream for fun- especially in church
-sucks her left thumb constantly... when she's tired, hungry, needs comfort, or just bored. She loves that thumb!
-stopped balling her eyes out in her car seat... we finally broke her!
-weighs 15 pounds still, and is 27 inches long
-got her first bruise when Mom didn't realize she could move so well, and she fell off the couch while I was getting a bowl of cereal:(
-is becoming so aware of everything, and making Mom and Dad laugh all the time.
This has been such a wonderful month with our baby... we're looking forward to spending her first Christmas in Texas with Brian's family, and New Years with mine in California!

So long Mr. Pup

Today has been one of the hardest days of my life- I had to say goodbye to my best friend, sir Pup. This has been a few months in the process... we always knew Brian was allergic to the dog (but I told him to deal with it) and then we started noticing Julia was too. She would get really red and watery eyes all the time, and sneeze like a maniac. This was heartbreaking to discover, because everyone who knows me knows how much I love my dog. But obviously our child comes first. After weeks of trying to find him the perfect home, we did. These people love pugs so much, they had their last one that died cremated and is now sitting in an urn on their shelf. Even though I know he is going to a good home, it still doesn't make it any easier. I literally feel like my eyeballs are going to fall out from crying. I love you Mr. Puppors, and hope that you have the best life ever, and know that I will always love you and think about you ever single day.

The Best Ever...

Thanksgiving was this

plus this (the bomb Mexican food)

and a whole lotta lovin' this

equals the best Thanksgiving ever! (minus the cockroach Brian found on our pillow in the hotel room in Orlando, and didn't tell me about until days later!)

Communty Organizing

Last week we were watching Glenn Beck on t.v., and he made an announcement that he was coming to Florida over the weekend and would have a special announcement. We decided we had to go! We are excited to become conservative community organizers this March when he comes back to Florida to train us how! We also got to meet him- he is such a nice guy. He was so sweet with our little one, and just held her hand for forever. Brian totally spaced it and didn't take a picture, I was so sad! It was such a cute moment... but we had so much fun at the Glenn Beck rally and were glad we could go!

Advice needed

Okay, so recently I have started working out again and I am having a hard time with something... before I got pregnant, even when I was totally out of shape, I could still bust out tons of sit-ups. I tried to bust 'um out the other day, and couldn't even pull myself up. Not once. I couldn't even do a crunch. Does anyone have any advice on this? I can't handle my mommy tummy any more!!

3 months old

Hooray for 3 months! This month has been so much fun- we have been getting lots of things done around the house, Brian has been working on it like crazy. My Dad came into town to help us tile and do lots of projects- it's starting to look really good around here! Julia loved spending time with her Papa, and we miss him bunches... Julia is getting big so fast though, it's crazy how much she's changed these past few weeks. This month Julia:
-slept through the night for the past week (8-11 hours!)
-went to her first Gator football game (and had a nice nap)
-learned to eat faster and go longer in between feedings (hooray Mom loves this)
-figured out that if she cries loud and long enough, she'll get held
-loves to interact with toys and Mom and Dad- she's sad if she's not being played with!
-weighs almost 15 pounds!
-is wearing 6-9 month clothes. What the giant?
-hates her car seat. Cries the second we put her in it
-still drools and sucks her hand like crazy
-no longer likes that binkie!
PS- Don't mind the nostril shot Brian recorded of me the whole video!

Julia's first trip to Disney World!

....or as they say in the south, Disney. She had a blast- looked all around and didn't make a peep. She just stared all day, and seemed to love every minute of it. We can't wait to take her back!

My dad= the bomb

So recently when I was in California, my dad realized how much we needed one of these, and totally hooked us up. Thanks dad for giving my arms an occasional much needed break!

2 months old!

Oh my goodness! This month has flown by! Since my last post, we have been spending lots and lots of time with family. Bob and Yasmin were here for a few days visiting their first grandbaby, then we went to California to bless our little one. I was able to stay for 2 weeks (Brian had to go back to school after a few days) and had bunches of fun. It was so great to see all our family, and have them meet baby Julia. I miss everyone already! I'm so sad though, we barely took any pictures and didn't even break out the video camera... we are so dumb! This past month, Julia has:
-learned to make sweet sounds and laugh! My favorite!
-gained some weight, she is over 12 pounds and almost 25 inches long!
-grown out of her 0-3 month clothes
-slept almost 8 hours without waking up
-met all of her cousins and grandparents
-found her hands and arms, and loves to suck on them
-flew on a plane and was a perfect angel
-taken her first formula bottle, and hated it. Let mom know by throwing it all up, and hasn't taken one since.
-pooped in the bathtub for the first time
-become the world's biggest drewler
-gotten the nastiest eye boogers and tears due to clogged tear ducts
-grown into her dark blue eyes
-taken her first beach trip, and got her first sunburn (I know, I'm a terrible Mom!)
-got sick for the first time. She cried for 5 hours straight when my mother in-law was throwing us a baby shower. Her tummy ache lasted for 4 days!
-been blessed by Daddy in the Citrus Hills ward, in Mommy's dress (cried the whole time thanks to her tummy ache, but went straight to sleep the minute Brian sat down)
-made our hearts melt each and every day... we love this sweet little girl to pieces!

Kirra Jones

Ok so we hear lots that Melissa's kids look like Jones babies, but I think Kirra is all Eynon. Here's a picture of her, and one of me.

1 month old!

So today is Julia's 1 month birthday- and I promised a few family members I would post today... sorry to the rest of you who are tired of looking at pictures of my child:)
This past month, we've learned that Julia:
-likes to hold her head up for long periods of time
-smiles when you talk to her (so cute!)
-has a serious set of pipes, but uses them only when she's hungry
-prefers to sleep in her bouncy seat rather than anywhere else (as long as it's moving of course... if we stop bouncing, she wakes up!)
-hates her swing
-hates craft stores... she always cries when we go into them
-gets bad rashes, now she has "special soap" which Daddy just loves the price of:)
-is too big for her newborn diapers and clothes... time is going too fast
-thinks the best time to play is 4am
-loves walks and car rides
-is losing all her hair
-will untuck her arms no matter how tightly they're wrapped under blankets
-still loves that binkie!
We've been having such a good time with our baby girl... we've loved having Brian's mom here the past two weeks, and can't wait for Brian's dad and step-mom to come play with us and baby Julia this weekend!

The Binkie Monster

Oh my goodness time is flying by! I look at the clock every day and I am constantly shocked by the time. Where does it go? I still can't accomplish much during the day, but I'm sure that will come eventually. I'm just enjoying spending the whole day with my baby girl. She is already changing and getting so big! We are learning all sorts of things about Julia. Like she loves to eat! She never stops- I have to end meal time after about an hour. If I let her, she eats until she throws up! She is such drama when she's hungry, or thinks she's hungry. She totally has Brian fooled- he thinks if she whines we need to feed her. Boy, she already has him wrapped around her finger.
We call her "the binkie monster" because she loves it so much. I was so against it the whole time I was pregnant, I had read so much negative stuff about pacifiers. The second night in the hospital though, she had a breakdown and we couldn't figure out what else to do to make her happy! The nurse finally convinced me to try the binkie... lifesaver! I promise though she won't be one of those two year olds walking around with a pacifier in her mouth:)
She has a hilarious stink face- it seems she always has a scowl on her face. Daddy has the same one though... she looks so much like him! She is a very happy girl, she sleeps so well at nights (hallelujah!) and just loves to listen and observe everything. She loves to go on walks and just be outside anywhere- she is so content when she's outdoors. We are loving everything about her...
Recovery is going slow but good, but my emotions are driving me nuts! The first few days I thought I was a psycho, and just yesterday I had a cry baby break down in the grocery store. After my mom left, we were sitting eating dinner and a Walmart commercial came on about a mom taking her daughter to college. The mom walks out to leave, and the daughter runs out to hug her and say goodbye. I don't know what it was, but I was sitting there sobbing while eating my dinner. I missed my mom so much! I'll be glad when these emotions get back to normal... so will Brian:)
Other than that, things are great here. Brian started school yesterday, so it was the first time I was left alone with baby for an extended period of time. I was lucky to have mom and him here for the first little while- but luckily he has a pretty easy load this semester, so he'll be able to be here with us a lot. Well, Brian's convinced she is hungry again... so I better wrap this up. She's gonna weigh 50 pounds by her first birthday at this rate!!! We'll write more next week!

Introducing... Julia Leighton Glenn!

Well, she's finally here! After nine long months, baby Julia has made it here safely! Early Sunday morning (4:45am) my water broke. I hadn't had any contractions so I was kind of in shock when it broke! I called Mom and she immediately got on the next flight. We left for the hospital, and were quickly admitted. (I think they were in a hurry to get me out of their hallway since I had a big puddle of lovely amniotic fluid puddling up on their floor.) After that, it was a big long waiting game. I was dilated to a 2, and sat there for five hours and nothing happened. The doctor was worried since my water had already broke about an infection, so we started Pitocin to speed things up. Oh my goodness did the contractions start! I stuck it out for a few hours, until a phone call from Melissa encouraged me to stop trying to be a hero. Holy smokes thanks for epidurals!!! I don't know how women do it naturally. After lots more waiting and worrying (baby's heart beat kept dropping so I was put on oxygen) at about 5:30pm I was told that I was finally effaced. I was told I could wait a little bit longer to start pushing, or I could push right then. I was so scared at this point- Brian was such a good support, but I was hoping that my mom would make it. I decided to wait. Oh my mistake. Shortly after, I was in a whole lot of pain- even with the epidural. The contractions were killing me, and I felt like I had to push so bad. The doctor came in, and told me that there was an emergency C-section she had to deliver and asked if I could wait. Wait?!!!? Oh my goodness, the next half hour was the longest of my life. By the time she came back, I couldn't wait to start pushing. After about an hour and a half (with Brian right by my side- I couldn't have asked for a better coach) little Julia came screaming her way into the world (7:23pm). It was such an amazing experience... one I will never forget every little detail of. It was so amazing to see her healthy beautiful little face, I didn't even care that on a scale ranking to a 4, I ripped at a level 3. I was just so happy to have her here. Mom got there an hour later and I was so glad she finally made it. She is staying for the week, and it already makes me cry when I think about her going home. I'm so scared! I know it will all be okay, but this having a baby stuff is hard! I know I will catch on eventually. She is such a big baby (9 pounder!) It's hard to keep that tummy full. Everything has been all so worth it though- it's absolutely incredible the love that you immediately have for this little infant... I just couldn't ask for anything more. She is perfect, and we are so happy to have her here!
